In June 2015, we cheered the passage of most of the Women’s Equal Act and in October celebrated when Governor Cuomo’s signed the bills. As of today, January 19, 2016, all the bills are law and we can truly feel pride in our immense accomplishment!

So what might work to close the gap? Social scientists and policy makers have some ideas, as do companies that have been trying to combat the problem in their work forces.

Survey found that for women in tech and venture capital gender discrimination is common. Sixty percent of the women working in Silicon Valley experience unwanted sexual advances, according to a new survey released this week. About two-thirds of them say that these advances were from their superior.

The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis recently published a study that showed that half of the long-term unemployed are now women over 50. So what’s going on?

With weeks left until the first caucus event of the year, (almost) all election-watching eyes are turned towards the presidential race. But there are also many states holding elections, both for congressional representation and state-level positions that are especially critical to women and women’s health this year.

The average age of first-time mothers in the US has surpassed 26 years old in the past decade, reaching an all-time high, according to new statistics. Researchers warn the trend may affect America’s overall population growth and demographic composition
