On December 16, 2025, PowHerNY’s community gathered in-person and online to celebrate ten years of inspirational advocacy and successes (see Highlights Reel). We unveiled our new Wall of Sheroes in honor of the work of over 500 organizations, elected leaders and advocates who were part of our gender and racial equity movement. Special thanks to Governor Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Tish James for sending warm congratulatory videos (below), as well as Senate Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins and Senators Fernandez and Liu, and Assembly member Alex Bores for their enthusiastic participation. Congratulations to our “2025 Equity Champions” NYC Council members Amanda Farias and Tiffany Caban for their sponsorship and passage of two new NYC pay equity laws. Speakers reflected on the successes of the Network and Equal Pay Campaign, as well as the LEAP project supported by AmplifyHer, and PowHerNY Founder and President Beverly Neufeld was honored for a decade of leadership in advocacy and building a movement for equal pay in New York. Looking ahead, new plans were announced to expand and diversify the Network with the continued generous support of the New York Women’s Foundation, Ana Oliveira and Camille Emeagwali. And, an exciting partnership with national equity experts, the Equal Rights Advocates, is in the works to advance pay equity in New York and beyond.

During our celebration we were honored to be joined by NYS Governor Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James. Both leaders have been longstanding champions in the fight for economic equality in New York and we thank them for their support.
